Caliper Rebuild Question
Anyone know a place that would rebuild calipers from a 87 Mazda RX7?
I am having a heck of a time finding new calipers. Maybe someone can rebuild the existing. Thanks, David |

I would try PMB Performance. They primarily do 911 brakes but they do many others as well (including Datson). They do excellent work which includes splitting the calipers, replacing pistons, re-anodizing, etc. I had my '74 911 brakes done there and they came out perfect (and not too expensive). It may be worth a shot.

When you say new do you mean brand new or is rebuilt ok?
Rock Auto looks to have plenty of them but you have to play the mailing the cores back game.

PMB Performance is who I used in 2016 for my 911 calipers rebuild. Best part about it was using the USPS flat rate box to pack them in. $80 worth of shipping back then for $20. Ah, the good old days.

I did Rock Auto and had to mail back. Didn't fit over the huge 10.8" discs.
Thanks for your help. |

Why not buy a kit and do them yourself?

Suppose I could but I just want this done and where it's brakes (son's car), probably leave to a professional.

I see there are two types of front calipers and they are single piston and 4 piston. Do you have different calipers than offered?

5 Lug. The calipers they sent won't fit over the disc. The disc I removed I believe are the original discs. I must say I sent the wrong ones back Tuesday and got refunded on Thursday. Pretty good.
I also tried Oreilly's, they can get one side but not the other. The side they got took two weeks. I pray it fits. I also order the discs from Tirerack, two months pass and they still were on back order. Best scenario is button up the brakes and unload. I believe it's the GLX. Helping son with project. Somehow he was suppose to get a camry for commuting to school, then this happened. ![]() |

Why not put smaller brakes and rotors on? Is that an option?
