Mini cordless chainsaw
Lots of trees in my yard...always small trimming jobs needed.
Getting out the 18" gas chainsaw for smaller branches is a headache. Bought one of these last week and have used it a few times....works great! Just snap in the 3amp 20 volt lithium battery and it'll chew thru limbs 3-5 inches easily.:) It uses a normal chain and it has auto-oiler. And it's super light. https://www.harborfreight.com/20V-Hypermax-Lithium-Ion-Cordless-Chainsaw-Tool-Only-64940.html http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1598294415.jpg |
Aren't most chainsaws "cordless"? :D
|
Ok....cordless and gasless :)

Batteries...meh. |
^^^ The new 20 volt lithiums pack a real punch. It'll never replace a gas saw...but it's handy and no maintenance.

Just wait until Jack finds out they are using his name...

The Sunjoe corded saws from Amazon are excellent. I need a cord, when I cut, I cut a lot of wood.
|
^^^ I bought one of the Sunjoe electric pressure washers this spring.
Works great! |

I just bought a greenworks 40v pole saw on amazon for 129 with battery and charger. Very pleased so far. It was half the price of an attachment for my gas weedeater. Likely half as durable too, but for residential use I'll be fine.

I have four other gas powered chain saws (really nice Stihl’s, pole and regulars) and the little battery powered thing gets used 90% of the time. So easy. |

I spent 50 bucks and got the cheapest one I could find. as noted above, it does a surprisingly good job - even if you already knew that elec. motors generate max torque near stall... still surprisingly good

I wouldnt mind one of those. I use a cordless circular saw for alot of stuff but it only does about 3" . Its nice to not deal with the chain and oil and noise and yanking the cord. Iv got a pole saw too i like that but it doesnt get used much. Iv got about 20 chainsaws ranging from mini macs to ancient 1950s saws that weigh like 40 lbs . I like my 1980s homelite the best right now because its quiet , light and starts easier than my almost new stihl saws. Never buy a Husquverna they are garbage

I use a dewalt 20V rechargeable sawsall (from Lowes) with a 12inch pruning blade for this type work (things I can reach on foot or a ladder). It is lightweight and I use it for other purposes. It will work pretty well for up to about a 4 inch diameter (green) tree or limb. I can do quite a bit at any one time because I have two batteries. The batteries are interchangeable with other tools in the "system"...so I an use the ones from my drill and driver as well.

I too use a 2 cycle gas chainsaw but also have a full spectrum of Ryobi cordless tools, so would probably go with the Ryobi chain saw to maintain compatibility with chargers and batteries. Tool only $99 at HD: https://images.homedepot-static.com/...6a-64_1000.jpg |
Jack needs to learn how to handle a firearm
