Storm surge area - good luck to all
I am seeing on the news the expected intensity of this event. I am safe in PA, but wish all in the area well. Looks like it’s going to be bad.

Did you mean to say 20ft? High tide on top of that number.

Just did a Google Earth street level view in Johnson Bayou near the highest surge numbers on your map. It's very flat there.
I would be leaving.

Surge is now projected 40 miles inward. The motive force of water is so underestimated. I saw what a much smaller surge did from Katrina. Katrina is a spring storm compared to this one.

Best of luck to everyone. Stay safe and less importantly beware of Covids...
I can’t imagine what else 2020 will deliver.

Paul,
I'm sure gasoline prices have already gone up in anticipation of supply issues. There is no longer any delay.

As of 10pm CST, 75 miles offshore, moving NNW at 15mph, sustained maximum winds at 150mph, 939MB. This is going to be ugly.
Everything within 200 miles either way (east, west) has damned near zero elevation. Lake Charles, La. is 13ft above sea level and is 30 miles inland. This could wipe out a large section of IH 10 in Texas and Louisiana.
