^^^ Yes...life is good for the turtles

Someday I'll get to live the turtle life. Not a care in the world, just out sunning myself.

That is a cool set up.

Lots of turtles on the Huron River, three types mostly.

Saw a large snapper a few feet from me while in the kayak yesterday, he gave me the "who are you look" before going under my craft.

I love these turtle pictures. They look like they are living in turtle heaven.

The last pic (in post #22), I had the phone/camera within 6 inches of the turtles face.
She has her paw up..as to say "get that thing out of my face"

Check out the 'paws' on the largest female turtle.(3rd pic) She rules the roost.

She's a laugh. I like the way she blocks the way to the buffet and says "I'm not guilty of anything. I just happen to be standing here."

I can't get within 30'.... and that's being stealthy when they are snoozing in the sun. And turtles can scoot to pond safety in a split second too! Yers are spoiled rotten :)

Turtles in the wild are super timid. I've caught a few when they were trying to cross the road.
They cannot be tamed to live with the others. They will try to escape 24/7.

They may not be the smartest critters...but their sense of smell and hearing is excellent.
