Tinkering on motorcycles

Perfect weather today to get the motorcycles out and do some preventative maintenance. Then took the Norton for a ride in the countryside.

I would’ve taken my Harley, but we all know how unreliable they are.😂

not unreliable....but the rider needs to keep blipping the throttle to keep it running...esp at intersections.

very nice. love Nortons It was a nice weekend and I was able to take the 75 CB750F out to a local show/rod run and do some riding with some buddies. Snagged a "best metric bike' award for my troubles, so it was well worth it.

Nice motorcycles guys.

I dusted of my Honda XR400 and took it for a ride, to see if it still goes, In preparation for the Distinguished Gentleman's Ride in a few weeks or so.

We have limits of 100 at a gathering, signing in etc. I'm hoping this gets dropped shortly so the ride can go ahead.

Are you guys going this year?

Gotta love the old Nortons.

I took the old Sporty out and ran a couple of tanks of gas through her yesterday, which isn't hard - it only holds 2.2 gallons. These things hail from a different era, that's for sure. Something about a ride through the countryside on an old machine just seems to make things right in this world, at least for a little while.

A friend's dad had the Kenny Roberts version. We snuck it out one time when he was out of town.. Very fast and lots of smoke. Fun bike.

Wow, color me envious - you guys got all of the cool stuff up there that was off-limits to us. A buddy did manage to sneak one of the yellow/black Kenny Roberts versions across the border and into Washington, even managing to get it plated. I think it is actually legal now, but there never were many of those (as I'm sure you know), and even fewer likely survived. What a cool machine.

Another perfect early fall day. Got my 71 Triumph Tiger out today. This is my favorite around town bike. Always starts on the first kick, never dies at a stoplight, comfortable to ride and always good for a conversation whenever I stop for gas.
