I have a great collection of watches. Including my Grandfathers and fathers still in the cases. Wear them to family functions mostly. Daily driver is an Apple Stainless Steel.
But the reason I posted is because my wife bought me a Tag at Costco about 15 or so years ago and I sent the warranty registration off to Tag and got a letter back saying that they were sorry that they couldn't warranty the watch because Costco was not a Tag dealer. I thought "WHAT?" then I started digging around in the case that the watch came in and found a business card under the packing that was from a jewelry store that had gone out of business in our town about a year earlier. Never had any prob;ems with the watch thank goodness. But just an FYI.

I like Apple watches because of their functionality, but I cannot, will not, buy a watch with a battery that lasts only two days...
Get a battery that works for a month or more, I'm buying, until then, no thanks

That’s called gray market. I’ve bought many that way. Never an issue. Normally the seller offers warranty...I’m sure Costco would.

Pretty much stopped using my 3 month old Apple Watch 5. If anyone wants a good deal...LMK.

I think we need pics of the vintage watch from Vietnam.

This is a DEEEEP rabbit hole. Nutshell: Three models acknowledged as SOG watches. This one is the Seiko 7005-8030 from Sept. 1969. The last model "un"-officially commissioned by the SOG office operating out of Tokyo under Ben Baker. I added the Waltham compass band as these were a common set-up back in the day.

Good explainer article here: https://just2ticks.com/2019/04/10/running-recon-and-vintage-seikos/

I started collecting these around 4 or 5 years ago after I stumbled across one. A vintage black face Seiko with Arabic numerals just seemed odd to me. I dug into the background and discovered a pretty amazing history.

I've actually communicated with some of the few surviving MACV-SOG "operators" still out there over a couple forums about these watches. Interesting "dudes", to say the least.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1601388750.jpg
