I will be there Saturday along with my oldest son , we have been going for many years . It is a great venue . Weather will be cool in the morning with sunny skies and 60 degrees by afternoon . Maybe ......... just maybe Porsche can stop tripping over themselves

Are they letting fans attend? Is it open to out of state? We have been going but thanks to Covid haven’t checked.

The race is at road Atlanta in Georgia not Florida. The Florida tracks are only letting Florida residents attend, didn’t know if Georgia had the same rules.

Leaving in about 15 minutes , attendance to be held to 50 percent is what I heard . They also waived the cost for infield parking this year . Weather looks chilly but great looking forward to a great race .

Another great race from Road Atlanta ! My son and I arrived at 9:30 and easily found parking just past the Corvette corral . Parking was free this year . We carried our coolers/chairs to the stadium seating and found a spot as we normally do .
After setting up we walked to the vendor village area , less vendors as expected but decent variety . I purchased a few pins to add to my hat . Watched the Porsche Cup race and then waited for the start of Petit . If they held attendance to 50 percent it didn't show from where we were sitting . Stadium seating area had good turnout but most were able to socially distance . RV/camping areas looked packed . Race started under picture perfect blue skies but chilly with a steady breeze . Eventually warmed up and great racing throughout the day into evening . We left at 8:00 and got home at 9:00 and watched the end of the race on TV from the warmth of our home 😁. Congrats to the Porsche # 911 for the inaugural GTLM win of the season !!! Sorry guys no pics to share , taking pics just not my thing . Already looking forward to next year ☺️ |

Yea, the 911 got lucky, and 912 got crashed out just minutes before the end. The BMW driver I bet is crushed to go off track and lose the race for his teammates.
I is just sad to see Porsche not racing next year. I guess the VW group (owned by the Porsche families) will still have Lamborghini and Audi out there racing next year, just not Porsche. It is gonna be hard for my to watch any endurance racing and not see a Porsche factory team. I hope the independents can carry the torch for the brand next year.

Just a hunch on my part but I think we will see Porsche back in the game at some point . They have left and come back from many series . I think VW is wanting to get into F1 as an engine supplier with Porsche . If that doesn't pan out then the new hypercar or LMDh may be an entry point . If that doesn't pan out then a GT car will be back . There is so much going on in the world in the auto industry I think many manufacturers are thinking about their motorsport budgets . I was shocked when Honda announced pulling out of F1 . I was also shocked Porsche announced pulling out of IMSA after fielding brand new cars . It is what it is for now .
