Amazon Prime garage delivery

Amazon Prime, along with an ap tied to your Liftmaster garage door opener, will allow the Amazon driver to open your garage and place your package inside.

I understand porch pirates are a growing problem but who would allow an Amazon driver, or any stranger, into their garage in this manner? No way I would.

Garage
This sounds like a terrible idea for most of us.
OTOH I have a friend who is an apartment dweller with a shared garage. He kept his 911 in the basement garage that some of the other people in his apartment building used. They didn't keep anything in it but cars and junk and think one of them might to go for something like this.

My guess is that most Apt garages wouldn't allow access to Amazon, and most residents wouldn't have access to give access. But maybe some have a cheap system. I can't register the clicker built into my car with the garage door opener in my apt.

A much better idea is have a one-way drop box. Some look like a planter. On that note, what is really needed is something you can cut into one section of the GD. I've seen mail done this way. Once it hits the floor it's out of reach. OF course large boxes don't apply to any solution, so pick them up at a location if you're having trouble with thieves.

And like quite a few, my garage is not in front.

Exactly, a drop box of some sort, whether it's a separate box or something built into the garage door.

Deliver to Amazon Lockers. All over town. At all Whole Foods, for instance.

I don't have a need for that, but I've looked at that when making orders in the past. 9 times out of 10, there's nothing available close to me (Whole Foods is 1/4 mile away). I assume all of the drop-off boxes are always full around here. We noticed the other day when leaving WF that the boxes that were previously at the exit door are gone. I don't know if they've been moved or just removed.

I'm sure there are some situations where that would resolve a delivery issue someone has, or they wouldn't have done it.

I have a fairly secure area for deliveries here.
