Looks like a mostly peaceful hockey game from here.

CORRECTION: A previous version of this story incorrectly stated that the vehicle was a Zamboni. The story has been corrected to reflect that it was an Olympia-branded ice resurfacer.
Should’ve gone with the original instead of the cheap knock-off!

I drove by the rink the next day and the unit was sitting outside slightly black on the back side of it! The Olympia is built on a Chevy pickup, while the Zamboni is its own frame and design. I had a 68' Zamboni for my backyard ice rink, sold it about 12 years ago. We just don't get the cold winters like before, and the kids are gone, so no need for it anymore.

The driver had some balls driving that thing while ablaze.

Every single Canadian male, and perhaps most American males from the "hockey states" believes they could resurface the ice with a Zamboni, first time, with no instruction. Am I right?

You could. But those propane tanks on the back are a little worrisome.

I get the gist of it but I'm pretty sure that I need to know what each lever and wheel does. We have one Zam driver that likes to pump something over and over. None of the others seems to do that.

The pumping is to clear the snow chute at the bottom where it collects after being thrown in by the augers at the bottom on the conditioner. Hope this helps explain what is going on.

Yep, clears the inlet to the vertical auger.
The old Zamboni at our rink was like that but some of the newer machines apparently do that automatically.
The old machine we had was equipped with an air cooled VW industrial engine.
The wheel adjusts how much bite the blade on the surfacer takes.
Levers for turning flood water on and off.
Levers for turning vertical and horizontal augers on/off
Lever for raising and lowering the surfacer
Lever for dumping the snow bin.
Lever for hydrostatic drive
Some have wash water to clean ice before flood water goes down.
Gas pedal
Brake pedal

I am probably missing something, it has been a few years since I had volunteered at our local rink.

Oh, if you are a knife maker, apparently the surfacer blades are amazing steel to work with if you can get them after they are worn out.

Steering wheel which is not easy to steer either.

Most folks think use "Zamboni" as a noun rather than one brand name of an ice resurfacing machine. They are hosers and they don't know why that is an insult...

It’s 2020, what will we see next!?!?

Funny though, Dominic Zamboni is an old friend and we used to go waterskiing together on Lake Powell. Sometimes stuff breaks.
