I've been using Jorg pony clamps but the crank type tool is very attractive.
I'm not shelling out the sheckels for the pretty Hazet... nice that it is less than $400 tho |

If you're in the market for cheap chinese tools and don't mind waiting a few weeks, you can usually find the same thing on Ali Express for ~25% less than Amazon. The tool at the top of this page is ~$22.50 for example, vs $29.99 on amazon.
I don't normally go for that stuff, but occasionally need a disposable/one time tool like a specific crimper.

I used to be old school and just use c clamps and the old brake pads. Now, because so many of my cars have those stupid screw in style on the rear brakes, I have a fancy high fallutin press.

I bought one like in the first picture and it did not work worth a damn.
Maybe user error... I used my giant channel locks. They never fail me. Last edited by A930Rocket; 11-05-2020 at 02:29 AM.. |

I've always used a c-clamp or great big channel locks, depending.
Had no idea I needed a special tool. silly me. |

C clamp, but if you are tool porn guy I can see the appeal in those.

the very idea of ratcheting that lever is appealing
plus, I can foresee uses as a spreader clamp for woodworking (and you always need more clamps...) |

Any situation where you can't just use the old pad and a C-clamp?

1. And then there are some calipers that you just dont want to use a pair of c-clamps on to get all 6 pistons moving. ![]() |
