Porsche vrs Ford

65 mustang coupe versus 1976 Porsche 912E coupe

Mustang is pretty much done.
265hp crate engine
Power steering, automatic transmission, and air conditioning.
Power Disc brake conversation
All new suspension brakes and steering.

912E waiting on tranny rebuild parts.
All new SC brakes.
Dual carb conversion.
Fresh paint. Fuchs restored. Interior restored.

Only want one coupe.
Which one?

Looks like you've got it extra rough

I'd really love a good Porsche and a good bit of 60-72 American iron of some sort.

Depends if you want to sit on a lawn chair behind your car at a get-together car show, or drive on a winding scenic drive in the country.

One for show, one for go.

I like the garage idea posted.

Depends on my mood. My past K Code to Shelby spec (poppy red fastback) was a lot of smiles per mile.

Both are a joy.

Even though I'm not a Ford guy, since the 912E wouldn't pass the smog req't's here being it's a '76 model, I'd opt for the Mustang.
I'm just wondering what the conversation is about disc brakes. Are you trying to decide whether or not to do one?
If so, I vote yes for the brake conversion.

I got a 912E to pass CA emissions two years ago. It wasnt easy and barely ran.

That’s how it would work for me too. If not I’d try to keep both. Get a four post lift maybe?

To me, anything with a manual transmission is preferable to anything with an automatic.

Convert the Mustang to a 4 or 5 speed.

Thanks guys.
Have room for both, but want to thin out the herd.
Leaning towards the mustang to use as a family car, kind of an ice cream machine.
The 912 would be a work commuter car for me, and I already have a few of those.
No more manuals for me, only autos with ac!!
