Seasonal Beer from Bell's

From the makers of 'Two Hearted Ale' come this Christmas Ale.

The back label describes it as .."A traditional Scotch Ale that is rich and malty with notes of caramel and a warm finish. Certain to make any occasion festive, or at least a bit more bearable."

7.5% ABV I really like it for a change.

Steve,
As a very recent transplant to Michigan, we have been sampling some Bell's offerings. Just this morning, my wife arrived home with a new Bell's seasonal beer that we will do as part of a beer plank on Thanksgiving. Have you seen this one? It is 10.8%... not that anyone is counting!

^^^ No...I have not. Haven't seen it yet.
Is that from the taproom, or did she get it from a store?
I will definitely try it...have never been disappointed with Bell's products.
Let us know what you think about it.

I just now went to Bell's online site and used their 'Find our Beer' search engine.
Find our Beer | Bell's Brewery - Craft Beer in Kalamazoo & Comstock, Michigan

I was surprised to find a store less than an hour from me that carries both the 'Old Fashioned Holiday' and the 'Double Two Hearted'

I know where I'm going tomorrow!

I've never been a fan of the "Christmas ale" or the pumpkin ales that come out this time of year. I like the vanilla porters and many of the Octoberfest offerings but the "spiced ales" or lagers, not a big fan.

I make a great Scotch ale. I love a good malty beer. One of my favorite Scotch Ales is Founders Dirty Bastard.

I have DB from Founders in the fridge right now. It's local to me. I eat there often.
But, I still prefer Bell's Beer.

I had 6 of the DB's for a very brief time. Did I mention that those things will light you up? Bells has a good Porter and a Stout.

Two Hearted, Bell’s Brewery and Hopslam are the Best in America | Bell's Brewery - Craft Beer in Kalamazoo & Comstock, Michigan

Between the two...Two Hearted is better than Hopslam...IMO

Hopslam is hoppy, but Two Hearted is not.
TH is just a great all-around beer that you never tire of.

I will try the WW Stout.

Definitely wouldn’t call Two Hearted an IPA. Bell’s makes some awesome beers.

I went to the store today to p/u some of the Holiday Beer.
They were sold out except for one single 12oz bottle.
$6.50 for one. I took it. Thursday it's gone.

Steve,
Another good Michigan brewery is New Holland Brewing Co. located in Holland, MI. If you have never had a 'Dragon's Milk' beer, I would strongly encourage you to taste one of these amazing beers (https://www.newhollandbrew.com/beer/#dragons-milk/). They are a little on the expensive side (about $14 for a four pack). Any of the Dragon's Milk in a bottle are GREAT... while the can is just so-so.
