It's good that it was delivered in one day per Amazon. I opened the package up and the gauge had the battery installed and on. Obviously re-packaged. They did enclose another battery.
For $10...I can't even buy a 6 pack.

Just joshin' you. I have a tread depth gauge I bought in a tire shop. It's a simple push pin set up tho...no battery required.

(edit) Similar to this..

I had never considered one before...this one is a push pin also. The battery is just for the digital read-out.
I do like how you can get it set against the tread and then zero it out before pushing the pin.

Not sure I’d use this for just tires, but handy for smaller spaces. Cool bit of kit.

I just look for the wear bars on the tires. When they are showing at tread depth, it is time to replace them. I don't think I have ever measured tread depth. It is a pretty simple visual inspection. Like knowing it the tire looks like it low on air pressure.
