72 applications for Daytona and there will be a 60-car grid (the max # of pit/garage spaces available). The reliability of the LMDh cars will be interesting to watch. BMW said on a scale of 1:10, the difficulty in developing these new cars has been 12 or 13. And then there's the GT3 cars which are basically prototypes in their own right. These cars have about as much in common with their road-going counterparts as the 935 did with the 911. This will be an outstanding debut season with 2024 shaping up to be one for the history books.

Really looking forward to Daytona and the start of the IMSA season .

I'll be there for both Roar and Rolex. Probably been 15-20 times.

I understand from a friend of mine, that Penske has 3 of the new Porsches in his shop and John Church and Dempsey may have to wait until after Sebring to each get one.

Andretti is now partnered up with Wayne Taylor Racing with the Acura LMDh. So we've got Indycar teams with all but one of the IMSA LMDh cars: Porsche-Penske, BMW-Rahal, Cadillac-Ganassi, Acura-Andretti, and Acura-Meyer Shank. Only the Action Express Cadillac is without an Indycar team. 3 weeks to The Roar ....

I'll be there (Le mans, not Daytona) - assuming we're not mid WW3 by then.
I planned atrip with a bunch of friends, rented a place for all of us, warned them all to buy tix ASAP, and sure enough 4/5 of them failed to do so and.... it sold out in like 3 days.. Nice. They can enjoy visiting the Loire valley while I go see the race with my son ! |
