Bumper Pool

Any fun?

Downsized home and no spot for the pool table. Also, my eyesight is effed up, multifocal cataract + RK. I sometimes see double images at a distance.

We had one at my parents cabin as a kid. Countless hours played.

Odd coincidence, we have a table from my FIL in our front room. Doesn't get played often. It does get use if we entertain. Not like that happened this year.

Summary: I don't think I would buy one.

I have that problem both up close and at distances sometimes.. different reason though.

As for bumper pool, it has been years since I've played but I never really liked it.

sort of a combination of pool and pinball. some get really good at it... fun is a subjective thing. Never had the opportunity to try it...

Vision problems make cue sports frustrating...but despite my old age vision problems, I'm itching to get back to a pool table.

My son has a pool table. Turns out, with the covers installed it's just the right size for his daughter's train set.

Sadly, that's how many home tables end up...also, a good place to fold laundry.
Like I said..you need to love the game in order to appreciate it.

Bumper pool...Evidently, when Playboy had a club in Chicago, there was a bunny who worked there who would take on all comers, easily beating the guys. Who was she?
Later in life.."The striking Viking"...Ewa Mataya Laurance.

Here she is on a local TV women's morning show..short 4 minutes video.

Had a great table for 20++ years.
There was a decade it got used a lot- especially when the kids were home. Used a lot.
Then usage tapered.
A couple of eye surgeries later- I can't line a shot up well. Kids only visit, grandkids not old enough.
Got rid of the table earlier this year.
Like anything else it has cycles.
Overall, we enjoyed ours.

Scored our pool table for free.

previous owners were moving and they didnt to move it.

Moving it (then levelling it) wasnt fun.

^^^ Which is why I took the attitude of: "So let me get this, straight; you'll disassemble, load, transport, unload, carry all the pieces downstairs, reassemble and level this table? And all I have to do is give you three one hundred dollar bills?"
