Hey Milt, Happy New Year, sure miss the days of having our Porsche collection. On a happier note I had a PET scan yesterday and this afternoon my Oncologist called and said my lung cancer still shows negative, nothing at all!

Anyways to get YouTube videos I use a program called "4K Video Downloader" It saves the files as MP4 and a few MKV which if you have Windows 10 you can assemble into movies. It will do individual movies or the YouTube "playlists" automatically! I listen to music movies to help me fall asleep and stay that way since my radiation treatments last year. I listen to Chinese, Japanese, Korean, PI, Malay, all South American countries, Irish, Symphonies and such. I think every kid in China can finger pick a guitar??!!

iCloud is a much inferior service when compared to other cloud services out there. I currently use OneDrive - it's vastly superior for a large number of reasons. Also works very well with the Mac!

It looks like I can have my own Cloud storage, which I can access from any wifi connection, which also backs up my files and stuff. I wonder about music listening features, like playlists, shuffle, etc.

Do you really need your music on the iCloud? The Samsung T7 500GB is like 80 bucks and it's super fast.

Let's make this simple: I have 300 GB of music, which I would like to access while I am in my garage while my spouse accesses it in the living room. I have a MacBook Air, an LG K51 phone, an 80GB iPod and a 2TB external hard drive. The music is on the external hard drive because no other device has enough HD capacity.

The Samsung T7 appears to be just another external HD, albeit SS which means more reliability and speed. I am wondering if the My Cloud idea would work.

Hey, anyone replaced the drive on the air ? Darn thing’s flashing the darn folder with the question mark.

It just works, until they don’t.

Is the OS upgrade able or is this another Mac brick ?

I have a friend that replaced the failed drive on my circa 2010 Air. He wanted to upgrade it but said there were no options for that, unlike the MacBook Pro.

One option is to make your own "cloud" storage. On my router I can plug in a hard drive to it, and share it on the internet with a username and password of course. I can log in from anywhere and access music or videos or just photos and documents. No monthly fees, just the upfront costs and I have 100% control.

Ah, then yes, I have the WD My Cloud set up as a NAS, and it is accessible by any device on the local network, even my Blu Ray player. The WD My Cloud also doubles as a Time Machine backup for one of my macs. I'm sure if you get a 4TB, it could back up multiple macs.

This is what I have: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EVVGAD0/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and it was $168... I'm sure there's a better version now out there.

Yup, this is looking like the answer. My own cloud. Can I assume that a music "player" app can be found for my Android phone which will have features like shuffle, playlist, etc.?

Ive upgraded the memory on my 2013 Macbook Air. I took it from 120 GB to 500 GB. Great upgrade. PM me and I may be able to help.
