^^^ Good reason.

I got nothing on blame. Much money went to the wrong places. The end. Here's my specific personal frustration. The 31 year old slug I occasionally schlep to the methadone clinic received an $8k unemployment catch-up payment while living free with his not well heeled Mom earlier this year. He disappeared for two weeks. Guess how much went to Mom and guess how much he had left at the end of two weeks? 13 stimulus payments up his arm. |
^^^
I am sure that I'm nowhere's near understanding your frustrations Truly hope it all works out. |

I can appreciate any that didn't get a check because of AGI
Certainly no need to complain if so. |
No deposits for me, but that’s ok.
I’m going to look on the positive side and hope someone who needs it, gets it. |
We got it, and we dropped $300 of it on Saturday at various locally owned and operated bars and restaurants. We'll drop more over the next few weeks until it's gone. This isn't hard economics...who needs it more, your neighbors or VISA???

My wife and I are retired and have filed our taxes online for many years . My wife has drawn her SS for over a year now I have not starting drawing mine . Last week my stimulus check was deposited into our bank account . Hers is being mailed :( . Government efficiency at its finest :D . The Feds have all our info and still decided to pay out two different ways ............... strange .
|
^^^^ Same as last time. Mine show up in my acct. first thing. Others might be much later, or by mail (already a fooster-cluck of backlog right now), and they also draw SS (via deposit) and use DD for their IRS filings too.... makes no sense.

The problem child I mentioned would ask for $$ to buy lotto tickets with the promise he would split the winnings with me. Sorry about going a bit OT in this OT thread.:) |

Pass "GO" collect $600. Just don't land on Park Place. |
I guess if I wait long enough, the folks I'm ranting about in my thread might be able to pay for the damage to my daughter's car! Nah, who am I kidding?

All the news sites are rants about Trumpers attacking the DC buildings.
Nothing about the 2K, yo! Or on my case the exta 14... |

Half ours is gone now, to the battered women's shelter.
|
Interesting, we got the first round of checks, but haven't received anything this time. I tried checking for our status, but the website told me that I didn't enter our info correctly, so now I'm banished from checking for another 24 hours.

It will be under the new administration....not quite there yet !

Taking my Friend to his doctors appointments today.
He is a very wealthy man. He has no simple income, makes a ton in investments. He got $600. You government at work. |

He must not have made over $87K on his investments last year....Or he hid the income somehow. The checks are decreased from $600 accordingly to your AGI. |
Received a debit card in the mail today claiming to be my "Economic Impact Payment Card, enabled by Money Network®"
They give a phone number to call in order to activate the card, and say they also want my SSN, and that I'll need to set up a PIN to complete the activation. They claim that the card can be used to transfer $$ to a bank account (need to provide a routing #), used to make a cash withdrawal at an ATM or in-person at a bank, or make purchases on-line or at a store. Anyone else get one of these? I'm a bit leery that it could be a scam of some sort. |

A1. The IRS and the Treasury Department are delivering second Economic Impact Payments as part of the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act of 2021. Most of these payments will be made by direct deposit. For those who are eligible for a second EIP and don’t receive a direct deposit by early January, they should watch their mail for either a paper check or a debit card. Please note that the form of payment for a second mailed EIP may be different than for the first mailed EIP. Some people who received a paper check last time might receive a debit card this time, and some people who received a debit card last time may receive a paper check. Payments being sent on a prepaid debit card are known as the Economic Impact Payment Card. These EIP cards are sponsored by the Department of the Treasury’s Bureau of the Fiscal Service, managed by Money Network Financial, LLC and issued by Treasury’s financial agent, MetaBank®, N.A. The EIP Cards being issued for the second payments are sent in a in a plain white envelope which prominently displays the U.S. Treasury seal and “Economic Impact Payment Card” in the return address. The envelope will also have the following notation: “Not a bill or an advertisement. Important information about your Economic Impact Payment.” The Visa name is on the front of the Card and the issuing bank, MetaBank®, N.A. on the back of the card. Information included with the card will explain that this is your Economic Impact Payment. If you receive an Economic Impact Payment Card, visit EIPcard.com for more information. |
The economic impact card is real. I received mine thought it was a scam card and was going
to toss it. Googled it first and found out the treasury sent out 10's of thousands of them instead of a paper check.Activate it first then take it to your bank. They will cash it. No fee involved. |

I heard this might end up being monthly !
Sweet. |
Interesting. We'd gotten the previous stimulus check. We've been using direct deposit with the IRS for years. We expected to get this most recent stimulus check, and get it via direct deposit which is how we got the previous check. But the cut-off date came and went with no check. No big deal, claim the miss on income tax when I file.
I just received a physical check in the snail mail. |
