And that sound! I can vividly remember the F1 cars in Dallas in 1984. Screaming to redline and then gear changes that sounded like Thor slamming his hammer on a giant anvil.

Racing was great back then IMO. Not saying good or bad, just different. BTW I remember that Dallas race. The track was melting from the heat or something like that, I seems to me that was the race where Mansell tried to push his car to the line. ??

They held the race in July in Texas. Not very smart. Now the grand prix in Austin is at the end of October to beginning of November when the weather is usually perfect (except that one time we had a late season tropical storm).

Today practices at Imola 1 and 2 were interesting

Bottas fastest and Gasly 3rd quickest. We'll see what quali brings tomorrow. Leclerc
fairly big crash, Max not really on it,..... yet. Ham sand bagging too.

Don't forget, time adjustments for Prince Philip funeral.

Thats funny.

I'm a Ham fan, mostly, but it looked to me like he was off track just as much as Lando Norris, who as we know had his best lap taken away. Perhaps I'm wrong.

I would agree but rules are meant to be bent 😁 . Great effort by Perez and Vettel continues to swirl in the bowl 🙁 . Schumacher for the 2nd race out qualified his teammate which is what you want . I was very disappointed by Kimi/Alonso/Sainz .

yellowperil 04-17-2021 06:29 AM

I agree, but should make for a good race tomorrow. Hope Vettel can climb up a bit.

If they all pound those kerbs for 65 laps, there's likely going to be some drama for a few cars.

astrochex 04-17-2021 08:49 AM

Well a genuinely surprising qualifying.

It could make for a genuinely interesting race.

Miami city officials announced today they have signed a 10 year deal to hold an F1 race starting in 2022 . A 3.36 mile street course will run around Dolphin's stadium . Event date to be announced at a later date .

Do F1 rules not allow power tools on the grid ? Both Aston Martins burned up their rear brakes ( on fire ) and are changing the outer brake housings on the grid . They have 15 minutes to go and the mechanics are using a conventional screwdriver vs a battery powered . I would think battery powered would be much quicker . The rain has several teams scrambling on the grid with various issues to be resolved .

Just when I was about to comment that Mazespin made through his first F1 lap unscathed....then I saw the replay. Maybe not totally his fault, but adventure nonetheless. And then Mick? Poor Guenther is going to age 10 years this season alone.

I don't see anything wrong with what Maz did , he had his right side tires on the grass . The driver entering the track has to enter safely . Mick just lost it .,.......... just like many of the " seasoned pro's " in the opening laps . Rookies going through the learning curve .

Noah930 04-18-2021 05:56 AM

Wow, now Toto the one with the conniptions.

Captain Ahab Jr 04-18-2021 06:00 AM

wow, oh, wow, sounds like an exciting race so far, for once in a longtime I wish I could watch it

Go Yuki, go!

rfuerst911sc 04-18-2021 06:03 AM

Russell/Bottas heavy crash ........ two well seasoned F1 drivers out of the race . Looked like Russell was very aggressive and Bottas may have moved to the right a little . They were both lucky to not get collected by cars behind them .
