Skunks seen in daytime are usually rabid. Stay even further away.

See, the vet agrees to me, and he knows what he is talking about.

Sell it. Advertise it as a car for Covid19 survivors who have permanently lost their sense of smell. Huge pool of buyers in LA right now but act fast. Give a discount. Your luck and timing are exquisite.
Otherwise, Heel and Toe has your answer. Check your coverage first, though. Don’t want to read another bad luck story here. |
I tried like heck to get off the residue on the side of the car with no luck for a couple weeks now. I scrubbed with a brush, course sponge, but those dang spots are still there from this skunk spray on steroids. Found no info on the net and have tried some of their methods but most are on smell. Its a little bit easier to get it off the glass, but the paint is tough to get off. My plan is to use a clay bar? Any more ideas?

Have the paint detailed. Full clay bar, and even wet sand the full polish and wax.

could it be a dead animal in the car?
|
no, it skunk for sure. The smell isn't as strong as it was in the beginning after about 6 washings with two weeks. Smell lingers inside, but I think that will go away. I can't get the blobs of skunk spray off the paint and that's what smells.

Like I posted earlier, my truck smelled for months.

I know that I can get watermarks off of paint with a random orbital and polish. The easiest system is to use Griot's. Start with Fast polish, then Medium, and then the sealer. Most likely, the blobs of skunk spray will come off as I posted earlier.
