Disaster Preparedness Gear Source?

I’ve decided that I need to increase my level of preparedness in case of a disaster. I’d like some variety of “go bag” that’s adequately stocked along with some food ration type products. I know many here are way better prepared than I, any recommendations on products and where to buy them? This stuff is all over the place but I’d prefer to not get a bag of made in China crap from Amazon.

I'm not going anywhere. Plenty of food, water, medical supplies and ammo right where I sit. Folks are welcome to try and come in and take it. Might cause acute health issues for them.

If you're a Costco member these are available on line and some at your local store:

https://www.costco.com/CatalogSearch?dept=All&keyword=disaster+food

You can also order plastic 55 gal drums from McMaster Carr for water. Clay Martin has some good reading, Concrete Jungle is one.

You never know when things might go "tribal".

Pretty much the same for me....I do have a "get home" bag in my Mustang for whatever I need to do to get back to my farm.

Walking a long distance in a SHTF scenario can be hazardous, with little help from anyone, make sure you are prepared.

I will admit, I have let my carry permit expire, and I will be getting it again. I have not felt the need to carry for the past 5 years or so, but I could see that changing.

We have a cabin on a 90 mile long lake. Private well and septic system. That takes care of the basics.

Beer.. If you don't have plenty, THAT would be a disaster and you'd clearly not be prepared because you ran out.

You can get a shovel at Home Depot. Ammo at Cabelas.
You are welcome.

propane, dry foods like pasta, canned soup, water, and a generator. The generator for the refrigerator and lights. My mother needs one for her sump pump. The electricity goes off, the basement floods

I don't like feeling vulnerable, so I EDC (every day carry) a spring assisted tactical knife, a really bright LED AAA flashlight, and a tactical pen/window breaker all in a leather sleeve in my front pocket. I don't often CCW, but will when I feel uneasy.

I would also recommend a multi-tool, some paracord, and fire starters.

Wiser words were never spoken. I'd run out of beer before I'd run out of ammo.

Remember, when things go "pear shaped", comm is most important:

Thank guys, maybe I should have been more specific. Guns, ammo, CCH, that’s all covered. I have two beers on tap and a fully stocked fridge and bar, that’s all covered. Where I’d like some advice is specific to building a “go bag” and stocking up for a shelter in place scenario beyond the obvious stuff like water and canned goods.

"Go bag" and "shelter in place" are two completely different things. If you're sticking around town gas cans, generator, alternative shelter would be my priorities.

If "CCH" was meant to mean "cold hard cash", bundles of $5 bills around $2k will do. No Washington's, no Jackson's it's going to be "Keep the change" transactions.

Usually they will find you... but I’d track down and speak with a mormon. They are typically well stocked.

Go back to the start of the Covid freak out. I don't know what it was like in KS, but here in Ca it was beans, rice, flour, sugar and yeast that came up short real quick.
