Me neither but have been told it creates vapors that do. IDK first hand.

I think you're ref lacquered cases

Do tell. I might be willing to part with, say, 1000.

Anyone up for a trade? I have 9mm FMJ (brass cased) willing to trade for decent JHP. Not interested in +P

I was in one shop trying to buy 12ga OO Buck.

I have more in stock than they did of all ammo

reachme 01-20-2021 07:42 AM

9mm Range ammo I can get a box at a time at decent prices
Defense ammo is simply not available, at any price.
Then again my state is. . .lets just say different

I was wandering through a Walmart a while back. It was full of 12 and 20 gauge and there was a little long spoon food too.

I recently dug out the closet in my home office. I had a lot of crap that came from my dad's estate that I got tired of going through so it got crammed into the closet.

I found a box of 12 gauge 00 Buck that I had no use for as I don't have a 12 gauge shotgun. I ended up giving it to my business partner and he acted like I gave him a box of gold. I suspect the shells were 50 years old but I have little doubt they will still work. They went to a good home, and out of my closet. Win Win.

I bought some shelves for the garage at Home Depot and started to organize. Finally went through some bins and found one with 2500 rds of 223. That was a score!

California has gotten tough with ammo. If you don't have a gun registered in the caliber you want to purchase, tough luck, you ain't getting it.

Cali, a nice place to visit, but....

The personal defense stuff has been available around here but that's most likely because it costs quite a bit more.
I just snagged 50rds of brass cased 115gr FMJ for $14.99. One box limit :(

Maybe you buy the range ammo and i'll snag the defense ammo and we can meet up when I go to the Cape.

I can understand high end defensive ammo being expensive, but why is run of the mill FMJ target ammo so $? Is the current political climate just making people hoard ammo of any kind?

Because it's what everyone is panic buying. That's why I grabbed 50 at 14.99 today. Not a bad deal considering the prices I've seen in other places. I figure I'm dollar cost averaging ammo. Problem is, I can't remember how many dollars I've spent on ammo now.

According the fine folks at Cheaper Than Dirt it's $2/round for Winchester 9mm NATO Ammunition 50 Rounds FMJ 124 Grains.

They hold their ammo hostage. They should be called cheaper than platinum.

I used to pay $5 for 50 rounds of Winchester White Box. Probably 2007...

That is a 20x increase...Or a 25% increase per year over 13 years, compounded..
