Parasite

Saw this last night at the 3D theater. It's subtitled, but that is ok with me...easier to catch everything. If it's in your area...very worth seeing.

Just today nominated for an Oscar.
A very good movie.

Watched last night on Amazon Prime. A bit grim but worth watching. The Academy has a history of picking this type movie for Best Picture so I guess it shouldn't have been such a surprise when it won.

Based on the trailer, I still have no idea what it's about.

For me, winning an awards and high ratings from critics is two strikes against it. I have never cared for dark moody scary movies, even if they are "based on true events" and then skewed to fit some writers twisted imagination.

It was not on my radar as a move to watch. Now it will be just stricken. I prefer a good action movie with car chases, and things getting blowed up real good and some humor.

Very few foreign films are worth watching in my opinion.

Feel free to watch the critic favorites, I would rather see Sharknado vs Godzilla.

I have seen a few movies that won, and the critics raved about and it was just a total waste of time to see. They may have great acting, but a boring plot or a story that is all about Hollywood and the back story of acting and something I simply don't care about.

If you or others enjoy that, great, have fun and enjoy. I will watch Blazing Saddles again.

From the name of the movie and the first part of the trailer...it would be easy to think that the movie is about some kind of pestilence or plague.
It's not.
Without giving up much...it's about a lower class korean family who try to infiltrate a higher class korean families life.
Various twists and turns make it a very enjoyable movie.

I would recommend not seeing it...for you.
Sharknado II might be out this summer.

Sounds like you might like Kung Fu Hustle even though it's a Chinese film with subtittles.

I've heard good things first-hand about Parasite so I will prob watch. If you like over the top action and car chases watch 6 Underground on Netflix.

I tend to agree with those principles. What ever professional critics would praise, I rarely enjoyed. I always thought that I am probably culturally simple minded.

He (Bong Jo ho) directed this movie also. Not a bad movie...Jennifer Connelly...yes, yes.

It has some similarities to Parasite. Both deal with the division between the upper and lower classes of people.

Good article. Amazing the amount of money and attention spent on the details.
I would have just rented a nice home and shot the movie there. Prob why I could never be good in that business.
