Poll: Will the Stock Market go up or down in the next 100 days?

Please refrain from saying why so we don't land in PARF.

Well Joe if I could predict that I'd have my own hockey team!

If they get the additional 1400 stimulus passed in the first 100 days, up. BUT! any major hiccup in the vaccinations and it goes down.

OOPS! Sorry! Just noticed I wasn't supposed to say why.

You could buy into the Devils ownership but I have a great deal on the Brooklyn Bridge.
How about a guess?

Why only 100 days? It's going to tank. Boot goes back on the necks of businesses.

I've been surprised that it's been up. I hope it stays there, but I'm doubtful.

The "market" is a fickle thing, so I have no idea. I'm staying in, but I'm afraid that we're going to see a downturn, but no idea if it'll be 100 days or a year or ....

the biden bump has already been priced in.

everything in business depends on how quickly and effectively we can get the vaccine out. and how long covid and thus covid restrictions, need to stay around.

For the record I took option 3.
Everything is in place for it to go up.
But dnyamite that foundation, and it goes down.
And I don't know what will happen.

Would be interesting to peer into an alternate universe and see if there had been a Trump Jump higher than the Biden Bump.

I would guess UP, because the Market like certainty. It may like certain certainties more than others, but in general it likes certainty. But hey, next week we'll be on to a different BIG NEWS story, and the Market will run with that.

The real question is about real estate. We are way out on a limb there, at least in CA. There hasn't been a 'correction' in too long of a time. My wife won't go for it but I could walk away today with about $700,000 cash if I sold my little 1300 sq ft 2 bed 2 bath house. I see 200K going away WRT that deal soon.

Wow! I knew CA real estate was high, but not like that. My 1300 sq ft, 3 bed 1 bath, new kitchen 1939 built house on 1/4 acre in the city next to a park is valued at $100k and I would be lucky to get that.

A small 3 and 1 on a quarter acre next to a park inside my city limits would be going for at least $2M. and sell fast.
Values were stupid high here before covid but have continued to escalate regardless. It obviously can't go on like this.

If you live in a place you'd be happy to die in this shouldn't matter.
If you want to be somewhere else go ahead and do it, moving generally doesn't get easier with time.

The price of gas/oil will skyrocket over the next 4 years.... I just did a midwinter top off of my propane tank because I am confident the price hike is coming.

The last several years have been very profitable.
Now it's just about time for us to get serious and back to the business of higher taxes and interest rates, rising inflation, and a bear market.
