Gotta use every part of the buffalo, so to speak.

I'll eat tuna salad at home, rarely out, and never at a fast food joint. Mystery meat personified.
|
Just remember.... If it smells like fish...
|
Subway says it is tuna.
Get out your DNA Sequencer if you want to check |
Went to Panama a couple years ago to see the canal.
Stopped at a few coastal fish markets and had lunch there. The ceviche was excellent. After lunch we walked through the fish cleaning section where the ceviche comes from. That's the last time I'll ever eat ceviche. |
My first thought was AOC.

Cat food ??

Bad hygiene?

Imitation crab is typically hake or burbot or some other undesirable bottom fish. When I was commercial fishing off Vancouver Island in the mid 90’s, there were several local boats dragging for this. They would either deliver to one of the Russian factory processor boats at the 100 mile line or would deliver to Ucuelet Seafood Processors. The guys working for the factory boats would transfer the cod end of their nets to the factory boat and hook up a separate cod end and go back to fishing. Lots of radio traffic amongst all those guys at the time.

or pollock. In Japan they actually make this stuff really well.
I actually like the imitation lobster, with lemon juice, sundried tomato, a touch of mayo, capers, and cayenne. Picked it up from a local barfood spot, and its the best $5 seafood cocktail you'll ever have. |
I bet it's Emu.

Someone knows. Never had it myself. I’m curious now though.

I only get the tuna sub at Subway smothered in synthetic black olives.
I genuinely like the sammich. |
Never tried the subway and now I never will. Don't even eat real canned tuna too often. I don't hate it but my brain is telling me I'm eating cat food. Now fresh raw Ahi is another thing, yum

Tuna is one of the more healthy foods to eat.....just be sure to squeeze all the oil out before eating.

except for the toxic mercury from coal plants (mostly in China)
