It starts with the coins, then the dollars I tells ya! It's a slippery slope to put strippers and pole dancers out of bidness....

That's a good one...

Not required. Business can set their own payment requirements. Cash, check, or credit card.

^^^^ Yep. I use cash for small purchases and have never encountered that .... even at Panda Express .

OK.... I'm wrong. I get my food before I pay though .... either take cash or the loss .... doesn't matter to me...

Our bank pays 3% interest on checking account balances up to $25000 IF we use our debit cards 12 times a month. Our card use has gone way up since they started that policy.

I need a bank like that. I would change banks for that.

That's a nice deal.... but.

For only 25K, I wouldn't chase a miniscule difference in actual $ by going out of my way to use a debit card.... YMMV.

We all piss away more than that without even blinking. Remove the cap .... and I'd go for it too... jmo.

Over here, less than 9% of retail transactions are cash. It is all either cards or contactless (Apple Pay etc.)

I stopped using cash before 2005. Basically, only old people are still using cash and it is gradually being squeezed out. Even beggars accept Swish.

I hear Germany still use cash and that's been the norm. I assume it depends on the country. When we were in China, even the street vendors in remote areas were using their system like Applepay called WeChat only that we need to have money in their bank to open an account. No thanks. Credit card was not wildly accepted by smaller merchants unless we were in the hotels. When we got to Bali, cash was normal.
