My Garmin GPS dash cam died.
Since I have an iPhone I don’t need a gps but like to have video documentation of asshats that want to kill me. What light weight reliable low price unit is recommended and available?
Preference towards chip memory and ability to automatically over write if nothing happens.

I remember those threads. Looking for something a little more recent but thanks.
In a perfect world a cam that hooks up via Bluetooth to my prodigious memory of my iPhone would be good. ^%)

Retired, finally

Every single dash cam I have tried has lasted just past the warranty.

I chose that one because it was last updated about 4-5 days ago, but not really much of an update. Sorry.

So, I'm trying out the Garmin mini dash cam. $100-ish online and Best Buy. $20 cheaper online than Garmin but Garmin is out of stock, go figure.
Cons: No GPS Audio is sketchy depending on review medium. U tube videos claim over heating issue in parking mode. Parking "protection" video mode only works with full time power, no internal battery. Garmin calls BS on over heating issue. Slow download for review to smart phone. Stoopid book is really small old MOFOs like myself had to get the pdf file and expand. Needs a polarized filter for glare protection @ $20.00 plus shipping. No SD card. Best to get a 64GB mini SD Pro Endurance. Pro: Very small, can mount under my V1 Radar detector and power cord twines down the V1 power cord. Very unobtrusive. Has two stick on ball mounts for two cars. That's all I have so all I need. Small so the local PD doesn't need another reason to pull you over. Can monitor via smart phone which is on my dash anyways. Oddity: Two power cables, oriented differently for plug in to camera. Both vertical One up and one down. One cord is WAY longer than the other. Will update when other pros or cons manifest themselves.
