Any Pelicans under 30?

Just curious: I was just wondering if there are any other 20-somethings restoring/rebuilding/driving air-cooled Porsches. How are you liking it so far? Is this your first old car you're messing around with? What brought you to your car, what do you like most about it?

I think I've been on this forum for 20-something years and bought my first 914 in 1975, so definitely not me.

I commend your taste in motor vehicles, however.

When I joined this forum I didn't have a driver's liscence.
It took some time from there for me to reach my twenties.
No longer in my twenties.

Still haven't had an aircooled.

I will say, taking a 2nd 944 with issues and getting it running was far more expensive than buying one that worked to start with.
But along the way, I learned a lot.
Wouldn't change to take the easy path given a life do-over.

I think it would be fair to say there are plenty on lurkers that fit your description, but if we did a poll I think most here are well into their careers.

I'm in the bracket.
But no air cooled p cars. Too expensive for the buy in. Currently have a 928 with 6.0l cheb truck engine. Bought the car with messed up timing (bent valves) when I was 17, and spent the last decade blowing through engines in it..... At least 20k has been spent on it.....

I have also owned a 951 my senior year of high school to first year of college until totaled.

About to turn 41, but was 23 when I joined here... Crazy to think I've been a Pelican for nearly half of my life!

Was it only a few years ago when I jointed this place? Sure seem like it. Bought my 930 a couple years after 30. Found Pelican a couple year later, mainly tech like most here. That was 19 years ago. no, I am not 30.

Dang Sid, you are still under 30? Stay young, bud.

I was in my 20s when I applied to join the PP message board and was denied, Haha! I posted for years on 914 World. I had to write to Pelican in order to be accepted and years later I joined while in my 30s. They probably should have told me "No" a second time.

I was 19 when I bought my 914. That was a few decades before the internet or Pelican or home computers, or cell phones. Microwave ovens were huge and expensive and only rich people had them. A decade before VRCs even.
