Twin supercharged Super Snake going to auction
I saw this article in Road & Track and it said there were only two built. I remember Bill Cosby had an insane one built and immediately gave it back to Carroll Shelby as it terrified him. I remember as a kid listening to his 200 M.P.H. album, too, which was great. I looked up Cosby's Shelby and it was the other one built. I'm not sure if it still exists- one link says it was rebuilt.

Yet another car that no one really wants to drive, just clean in for display as a toy in the collection.
We all agree Cobras are cool cars, just not any good as a regular car.

My understanding is that Carroll Shelby hated the big block Cobras because of the weight.

In around 1982, a guy who lived at the end of our street (completely middle income neighborhood) had a car under some blankets. As I walked by one day, he was outside and I asked what kind of car it was. He said it was a Ford Cobra and removed the blankets to show it to me. A few times after that, I'd hear him rumbling along passing in front of my place with his kids in the car taking it out to circulate the fluids. Some time later he told me he was selling it for $98K to buy & pay for another house to move into. I sometimes wonder how much it would be worth now days.
Edit: I just checked an inflation calculator. Inflation wise, the $98K from then would be worth around $266K now - assuming the inflation calculator was correct. So those cars handily beat inflation as an investment.
