I have been in waaaaay more than my fair share of drunken bar fights.
Spencer and jacket guy were together.

It bothers me that people don't just walk away or run if needed. Especially as trained fighters. Back away and leave. I don't care how much of a dick someone is. Fighting makes a bad situation worse.

I can think of a reason.
Because if you don't fight them, they'll pick on some one else.
And maybe that someone else isn't as strong, or as fast as you.
If you have the skills, take a bully down.
You might be saving some next victim that doesn't have what you have.

Not sure if it applies to this situation or not as I'm watching a short clip without audio.

I was the nerdy, long haired 14 year old into art and music. I wasnt a weakling but never fought anybody.

Defensive end of the high school team started picking on me. It lasted a few weeks until he slapped me on the back of the head "nice hair, ******!" I just exploded on the guy and kept punching until they pulled me off.

Nobody ever messed with me again. Nor did I let anyone mess with kids if I saw it. It was worth getting suspended for a while. Might have gone to juvie these days.

I wonder about kids these days.. From what Ive seen, they do seem to be a LOT more accepting and compassionate. I do wonder if standing up for yourself is lacking.

Kids these days, vary from kid to kid and location to location.
Just within an hour drive of where I live it can be drastically different.
Let alone a few hundred, or few thousand miles.

Two school districts from me has the worst grades.
Three districts from me, I encounter those that can't read, yet the grades don't reflect that.
It's a mesed up world; make it better a moment and place at a time.

There is some really rough stuff that is working its way into education.
It will seperate and divide anyone that doesn't have out of school experiences to counter it.

It's entirely possible (although sometimes difficult and delicate) to do/be both. MMA guy and/or OU guy could be at fault here. Either way, team sport jocks are accustomed to be being on a team. This small detail is what makes MMA (or any individual sport sorts) significantly more likely to kick ass when it's go time.

2 hockey dads fought outside a Mass rink like 20 years ago. One died and one went to prison (Walpole I believe, real bad place). Worked out real well for them and their kids. If they just walked away, it would be long forgotten by now.

There was another situation up here where two high schoolers got in a fight. One slammed the other and paralyzed the kid. One ended up in the hospital, the other in court.

The kids I worked with, I always stress to just walk away. Nobody wins in a fight period.
