Propella arrived today!

Assembled it and first adjustments. Battery is charging now.
Rode it around without the battery...good seat, comfortable. :)

Very nice - did you compare with the Rad bikes and if so what swayed you? Were shopping now...

masraum 02-26-2021 10:34 AM

Very nice!

stevej37 02-26-2021 10:38 AM

Yes...I did.
The biggest factor, for me, is that it looks like a reg bike.
I also wanted one just for the pedal assist. Not interested in going faster than anyone else or sitting back and letting the bike do the work.
Before I put the battery on the charger, just now...I rode it in my driveway in second gear and punched in the lowest assist. I was really surprised how much the lowest setting pushed.

Plus the price was great...a little over a thousand.

That was a long wait...enjoy your new ride

stevej37 02-26-2021 10:53 AM

^^^ Yeah, I think it was Oct when I ordered it....thanks for the suggestion.
My garage is 26X40 and I keep one half open...so after assembly, I decided to try it out in that space doing some ovals. I have done this before with my normal road bike..plenty of room.

When I started out in low gear and the assist kicked in...I almost wiped out making the first left turn!

Question here: The bar grips in pic#4 have a set screw in the metal collar on each end of the grips.
I want to use a 'bar end Mirrycle Mirror'...but not sure how to remove the black plastic plug on the end of the grips?
I pried it out about a 1/4 inch..but it doesn't want to pop out. Is there something I'm missing?
I hate to destroy it by doing the wrong thing.

My post originally mentioned something about that, but I didn't want to offend anyone with a fat tire bike, so I deleted it.

I'm glad that you're happy with it.

How much does it weigh?

stevej37 02-26-2021 11:47 AM

^^^ They say 35-37 lbs. (the battery is about 3-5 lbs of that)
I took the weird large kickstand off while assembling it. I don't need it and it will save a lb. or two.

20-40 mile range.

stevej37 02-26-2021 12:48 PM

The 7 speed gearset is Shimano.
5 levels of pedal assist.
Disc brakes are Altus.

Loosen the screw holding the grip
It does pop,out, and a .10 part.

Put it back on:D

Weighs very little, less than a pound and you don’t want to lean it when you park..
With the assist, weight does not matter.

you're not gonna hurt anything by reefing that plastic plug out of your bar end, except maybe the plastic plug, but you're putting a mirror in its place so no harm and therefore no foul.

I did loosen both the screws...inner and outer.
The black plug just doesn't want to come out. I'll try again.

Nice lookin' ride, Steve! Congrats! Look forward to your comments as you move forward with ownership.....

stevej37 02-26-2021 02:25 PM

^^^ Thanks!
Being only Feb here in MI...there is too much snow on the trails and the roads aren't safe (no shoulders without snow)
Laps inside of my garage get old quick!

I had no idea that was even a thing. Does it make a difference if I give it 5?

Edit, I see it balanced out to a 3
