Is anyone a CPA and/or familiar with the CA FTB?
Need some advice. My bank that I have had forever in CA just sent me a garnishment letter from the thieves at CA FTB. Very limited information. The FTB are referencing an address that I haven't lived at for 30+ years. The blood suckers claim I owe them $900. Not an earth shattering amount but enough to say Aw crap!
Of course the the letter came on a Saturday so I get to kick sand, piss and moan over the weekend.... There are a lot of variables that I can use to tell them to pound sand. But I need to know a few answers prior to talking to my bank and the FTB. Thanks in advance. PM me a phone number, I'll send you some graphics. ![]()

Try New York. I had to pay taxes on my ex-wife (yes EX!!!) income. She never set foot inside NYS. We lived in Mass and I worked in NYS. Mass said, fine, you're just "dossing" here. But NY said I had to pay income taxes on my ex's income. I fought it for 2 years until it was causing an issue on a mortgage as I was moving to San Diego.

The issue involved was a 20 year old altercation with some meth head. I had to had to defend myself and ended up getting a court summons in the mail.
I took a 40 hours of stress management classes as opposed to paying the fine. Somehow the fine popped up as unpaid. I pointed out the 20 year statute of limitations and the judgement. They backed off. Was actually cleared at my bank within an hour. A letter is supposed to be in the mail. Probably end up where my Mercedes parts were.
