Spotted an RS America going 110 plus yesterday

On the way up to Ben's house I saw a set of yellow H4s in my rear view. A nice RS smoked by me in my Mercedes. Anyone know who that was? 285 North of Canton.

285 doesn’t go anywhere near Canton. Especially north! Do you mean 575?

If it was 400, I’d say he was only trying to keep up with traffic!

You carry a radar with you? You're good if you are estimating. Anything over 80 looks like "anything" over 80 to me while standing next to the track/road.

I took the CHP course on speed estimation when I used to ride along as a hazmat call out. Liked to do the plain wrapper rides. We would occasional do traffic stops when we got run past my wankers.

Quite a few years ago the Porsche Club of San Diego did a group visit to Dan Gurney's shop up in the Los Angeles area, about 40 cars or so. We went up I-15 then took the I91 west to somewhere (old age makes me forget) but it must have been a sight to see with a loooong line of Porsches in the I91 car pool lane doing around 90 to 95, nose to tail and cars in the other lanes honking and waiving like mad. We were in my wife's 1987 930 just loafing along at 2800 RPM and it was a blast! I remember Dan's secretary having a yellow 914, all stock she said.

Speaking of high speed. The coolest (and most dangerous) thing I've seen was getting passed by a black 928 in 1984 while driving back from Dallas to Houston after the Dallas grand prix.

I don't know the speed, but I think a 1984 928 would do about 170 and that looked about right.

My 928 does about 170.

That is 170-ft before it needs some maintenance.
