Spiker engineering hood struts

I do not have any relationship to Spiker.

My '20 Taco Sport has a hood that's just too heavy for me to lift with my one good arm so I bought a set of these struts.

Damn fine pieces, well constructed solid lifts. The hood now only requires a couple of pounds force to lift it.

Question: does it use factory holes of some kind or do you screw it in?

Good deal. Not much more spendy than buying two from the FLAPS.

I see those fully extended and I remember younger days.

How much does the hood flex when closing? I was looking at those but wasnt sure if the hood was made for that kind of stress on the edges.

The kit comes with brackets that are riveted to holes you drill into a flange on the hood.

I haven't noted any flex. I'll post a pic of the install tomorrow.
