I get that. As long as a person isn't so skinny or so fat it negatively affects their health it's a matter of taste. If a picture of a woman doesn't suit your taste just move on. No reason to denigrate her for your sense of perfection.
I think western men have adopted an idea of feminine perfection that is unrealistically thin in the real world. Women that are barely out of adolescence are held up as the ideal.
Having said that, at 67 MrsWD can rock a bikini like Kristi Brinkley and I'm not complaining. :)

I get that you don't have to be skin and bones to be healthy but that girl's weight in the SI pic isn't healthy. Carrying that extra weight puts extra stress on the body. I can tell when I'm carrying around an extra 15 lbs and the difference it makes in how I feel AND in how I view myself. Her body type should not be celebrated but it also shouldn't be shamed. The desire to be healthy has to come from within. No amount of external pressure can make it happen. I think the problem is that people don't want to put the work in. We're too addicted to instant gratification. I'm working on dropping about 20 lbs but I don't plan to do it overnight. I'm shooting for 4-6 months of exercise and changing my eating habits.
