Why do they make can lighting fixtures 6 1/4 inch and hole saws 6 inch
Uggg. The largest hole saw I could find was 6" diameter but the can lighting fixtures that I am using are 6 1/4". I figured it would be no big but when I started cutting into my 1" thick plaster ceilings, the hole came out perfect and then when I used a file to ream out the hole to the proper size, the cuts are now all jagged and in a couple of cases, it chipped the plaster enough that I am going to have to fill.
Is there and easier way? I'm asking before I do the remaining 8 holes to cut. ![]() |

GEt an adjustable hold saw for cutting out lights. It comes with a cover to catch all the debris. No more dust in your eyes, hair and clean is minimal.

This will do the trick for one time use but the blades dull out quickly cutting through plaster. We have ones that have a carbide tip interchangeable blades, but those are close to 100 bucks. |
