Worst/ least fav TV character
Now that the Theme Song thread has peetered out how about those characters you hate?
I'll start with Vala Maldoran from the TV series SG-1. As a follow up Dr Pulaski from Star Trek TNG. Both characters written poorly and acted even more so. |
Ms Hathaway from the 'Beverly Hillbillies."
|
I'll second Pulaski!

hawkeye from mash. even as eight with year old kid i found him to be a douche. a few years in a north korean gulag would have sorted him out.
the entire crew of voyager. my wife is watching something called V wars. the "hero" is a jackass. every episode he is faced with some moral choice. he does the compassionate thing and thousands more die. but he is still the hero. brian griffin.did lisa simpson **** scrappy doo? is that how he was born? |
Good call on Pulaski. Beverly was so much more Crush(er)able.
Add Frank Cannon and Jamie (late character addition to Bonanza) to the list. _ |
So many lame actors, and shows from the mid 70s thru the mid 80s, It seems here lately that my tolerance for over-acting (being dramatic in everyday situations) is waning greatly...I can't hardly watch any new sit-coms !
|
Larry from the Three Stooges.

25 years ago I stopped watching anything with canned laugh tracks. First LT and I switched to any other program. A lot of PBS and even they aren't immune. |
A long time ago there was a sitcom called "Mad About You" My girlfriend at the time loved the show and apparently, so did a lot of the rest of the TV-watching public. The husband (Paul Reiser) played such a whiny little dooshebag that I decided that this was the death of my version of what the roles of the adults were supposed to be.
Then I noticed all of the "husbands" on sitcoms were just different versions of this same insecure creep. (Talking to you, Jim Belushi. Your brother would be ashamed of you.) I rarely watch tv anymore. Nothing on the networks to speak of. Just some racing and a few movies and documentaries. (and Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul) So, to sum up, Paul Reiser. Professional milquetoast. |
Lalo Salamanca

Dr. Smith on the original TV series Lost In Space.
He needed killin'. |

Hollywood has made it more normal to show an emotional/submissive, stay at home dad rather than portray any woman like that....just all apart of their "toxic masculinty" B.S. !
|
Pretty much William Shatner in anything.

(it seems like as the star trek series progresses, so too, does the % of objectionable characters) |

ok- I'll bite, and my response will certainly draw ANGST!!!!!
I am not a fan of Angela Landbury - Murder she wrote http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1616795968.jpg Columbo http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1616796030.jpg Matlock http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1616795968.jpg It's not that these are bad actors/actresses. For some reason, I find these characters as pesky little snitches. Just let the bad guys be!!!!! edit- But if I had to hang out with one of them- Columbo- hands down. |
After discussing this with my wife, she has, in her own words described Angela Landbury as a F'n%^$ Bi#$# in her role.
She was upset with my inclusion of Matlock and Columbo, further stating, at least columbo was a paid detective. She was also a little surprised about hawkeye, until I explained it to her, and now she is totally onboard with the MASH reference, so we're cool there. |

Needed killing like a Boss. |
Coy and Vance - the cousins who replaced Bo and Luke Duke for the most of season 5.
The helper who replaced Sharona on Monk The second Darrin (Dick Sargent) who replaced the original (Dick York) in Bewitched I sense a theme here -- I like originals! |
