I loved the back date look he made. Especially the rear. If memory serves (and I know it is only partially working) his car was posted in the thread about the early cars that have their own little elite club. For the life of me I can't recall what they called themselves?
Oh it's driving me crazy. R-Groupe? something Groupe? |
It was an honor for me to purchase and install Milt's one off bumpers on my SC . I ended up trading that car to Jake Raby and he sold it to someone in the Atlanta area . The bumpers were stunning in person , Milt showed his skill/talent building these .

^^^ 964 decklid that I started a small ducktail on just when Singer was doing the same thing. I never finished the DT because right after that shot the car was rear ended. The rear bumper was strong enough to be lightly repaired before it was sent to Richard. The lack of bumper shocks made the rear quarter tweak behind the rear side window. It needed a lot more work than showed.
And my wife, who was driving the car at the time, was injured and still suffers. In fact, she's having cervical surgery in 2 weeks some 9 years since the incident. We couldn't get anything out of the at fault driver's insurance but I was concerned enough at that point to never make any more non factory bumpers. That and I was severely dissed by just too many purists to even care about 911's anymore. Still don't. Sold the car with the stock bumpers to a German guy who exported it. Same price I paid for it 2 years earlier. It really did need a engine rebuild. Glad some of you found the bumpers to be what I thought they were. |
Hey Milt!
I'm sure you don't remember me but we went on a few runs together back in the old days when you had the 71 (i think it was the 71 ragamuffin) and the ortega runs....... 15 years ago-ish. I had no idea WHY you didn't make other bumpers, i didn't know your wife suffered long term injuries in that accident. i'm so sorry and wish her success and positive results from her up coming surgery. i now understand why no bumpers now. i wont mention them again, i get it and respect your position 100%. PURISTS? ha..... i'm not one of those folks. especially with my bucket of bolts, its a bastard of a car and i even celebrate it being a bastard with the infamous 911B Yes.... everything you THOUGHT it was when you made it, it was Milt. it was then and to many many of us it is NOW! i love what you and you creative genius did to the bumper! I'm sure alot of us would agree. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1617657120.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1617657120.jpg |
Sure I remember. On one of those Ortega runs I broke a rear sway bar bracket on the '71 and it was handling pretty wild according to folks behind me.

i don't remember when you broke the bracket but i remember that thing moved and handled like a go-cart !
