Why would this be a salvage?

So tempting...but i no idea what it would cost to put it together again.

Do you look for another totalled car with a ton of bent metal and transfer the parts?

Is it possible to make the numbers work?

There are some automotive electrical geniuses around. Haha, typically young 2nd generation Asian boy racer kids, smart as hell and understand these things.

Not quite as complicated, but a Subaru was in a sorry state and a yound guy I know jumpered certain pins and put resistors on other pins of the ECU, the computer was told "All's well" and off it went.

That's the old school way of doing it. Now you can just get into the computer and turn off systems with software. Not sure on high end cars, but on chevrolet truck ecm's..... it's quite easy

Some local acquaintances run a business doing auto diagnostic electronics. They're legit, go to SEMA and all that but it seems like they're completely missing out on another side of things. They're probably angling for relationships with the OEMs so I'm sure they're very straight and proper but there's gotta be a market for doing whatever it takes to make the computers believe that all is OK with your rattly bucket of parts.

Of course, not for highway use and so on...

Of course it is just salvage- missing a clutch and clutch pedal!

On the listing it shows as “stripped”, which matches the pictures. If so that’s probably repairable but would get expensive really quick. Maybe you could buy the stolen parts off of EBay and put it all back together?
