What was best decade for you?

Got me thinking that the comment was not there during that time presents an issue. Say if you are fifty then your best decade might be your teenage years say from 1980 to 1990 or thereabouts. For me the best years happened to be my teenage years during the 1960's.

So it is very subjective and depends on your age. I would have to say that the teenage years were where everything was fresh to me. The 60's music of the Beatles, Rolling Stones were fabulous. The cars in the UK were in the heyday of Brit sports cars. The American cars were massive with huge engine compartments and huge trunks. Well the girls were great. Just look at Woodstock.

Would you explain to me whether it was special for any particular decade or a certain age you experienced?

For me it just keeps getting better. Or maybe I'm getting better — either way works.

Had to be the 70's. 18 to 30 years old.

Would water ski every day from late April to Oct. Road dirt bikes every day. Snow ski in NM/Colo once a month and the entire trip would only cost $200, tops. Partied every night off of work. Saw every big time concert. Titty bars. Had a great job that paid a ton of money (or it seemed that way)

Damn

1990-1992. Smoking hot girlfriend turned wife. No kids. No career stress. No obligations.

Easily my happiest time.

Still married to her and lover her greatly. Just have millions of distractions and other items that seems to cloud the fun factor now.

I'd have to say the '70s. During that decade, I was continually taking mountaineering, fishing, backpacking trips and working in the Sierras, skiing, Mexico, beaches, trips to Europe, and lots of wimens. It was the most fun decade, although most of my decades have been enjoyable. It's also nice to be blessed with good health, interests, friends, and energy which continues even as it tapers off as I age.

The 70s for me. 18 to 28. I was fit, had a couple of dollars working my way thru college and for some reason women found me almost irresistible.

Had to be the 80's. Making good money. Traveling around the world. Good health. On my Third Porsche. Thirty years old. Great times

It's both!!!

I'm with you, Milt.

I love my life right now. Just turned 67 so at the prime of my life too!

Being able to look back and have memories is really special. Enjoyed living through the best years of our country's pop culture! The music, fashion, art, architecture, and automotives........but at the time, I didn't appreciate it as much as I do now.

Semi-retired and living the dream.......

Couple of them...when young and single, money in my pocket but everything I owned could be tossed in the trunk of my then new Pontiac GTO....and then, the decade or so after our daughter left, but before the age related medical problems were an issue. Remember well the troubling teen years, daughter who "couldn't wait to be free". She had no idea who was really set free after she left the nest.

Each of the decades of my life have been so different yet so overall interesting and pleasant it is hard to pick one, in fact I can't...and the future, promised to no one, looks to be a nice back nine to whatever Clubhouse there is.

I am playing, god willing, a five day tournament with a play-off

There have been issues, strife, adjustments and heartbreak; anger and disappointment, missed opportunities and setbacks, sleepless nights and anxious moments, but never for long, never an obstacle we haven't been able to overcome.

The big we: Parents, extended family, my wife and my children...in those people are the decades of my life, delightedly so.

Good post, Paul. Yeah, after thinking about it, they were all "best" decades. Sure wouldn't have wanted to opt out of any of them. To steal a line from Jimmy Buffett..."some of it magic, some of it tragic, but it's been a pretty good life all the way."

The last decade was good to us. Semi retired, doing a part time job I loved, traveling to Europe and gigging at a local bistro. Somewhere around here are pics of me playing guitar under the wisteria in the south of France. Yeah. That was good.

Best

80's

I usually have a pretty good time, but the 80's were the best I guess.

A couple of years in the early 70’s. I was a young kid (10-12) with no responsibilities and not a care in the world.

Later on, late 70’s to early 80’s. Working, school, clubs, parties, girls, etc.

Another vote for the 80's. Met, stole away, and married my lovely bride, and we embarked on some very fun adventures, many of which were those that shall not be mentioned. At least those that I remember. In retrospect, we refer to them as the Dark Years. Still married after 33 years.

Worse decade 2000 - 2010 divorce and major family issues that were emotionally and financially costly. Every decade has had it ups/downs, highs/lows. All interesting. all apart of life's journey, I pretty happy currently - I'm positive.
