At the local track they run on 1/8th mile dirt, speeds are a lot slower but much closer quarters. Lots of em get runned over.

When I was in high school we went to speedway in the summer and watched Bruce Penhall race.
A couple years later he went to Europe and won the world championship. Made it look so easy. |

Bruce Penhall--I remember when he was guesting on "Chips" after bruce (caitlyn--shudder) jenner. and Ponch left.
