No lawn for me, just flowers and veggies.

Over the last 35 years --I have less and less lawn -- lotsa trees old and new added over time --tons of shade so not so much grass. Use no chemicals on the stuff --I like my dogs too much.

Now have a lot of wild flowers in lieu of lawn and a nice habitat for all the critters and birds. Never go the lawn thing --but if you like it its all good.

With the price of water a grassy lawn is a luxury in So Cal.
I still have a small lawn and a battery powered mower.
Some of you must have a well or cheap water.
With drip irrigation and a small lawn the water bill is over $200 a month in the summer.

That's a beautiful little lawn you have there, ted. All the pics in this thread show great lawns.

And to think, when I saw the title of the thread, I thought it might be, um, a euphemism for something else...

I hate yard work. Seems like an endless loosing battle involving lots of hard work with minimal payout.

I decided to make my backyard into a mt biking skills area instead of grass. I've got three drops, a log ramp, a log-rock-log ramp, an unfinished log roll, two ladders and a teeter-toter. All things that give me the heebie-jeebies when I'm out on the trails and now I can practice at home.

Sorry, tried to upload a better pic but it did not work out.

^^^ interesting...prob wouldn't be an area to grow a lawn in anyway.
Nice use of the space.

I actually enjoy paying someone to do my lawn, weed my beds and moe than occasionally do other odd jobs around the house. My gardner and his brother recently power washed and painted my house. Fantastic job. He will be rebuilding my fence soon.

That is one nice looking mowing.
Do you use GPS?

No GPS... just OCD.

I don't who you are, that's funny right thar....

Crowbob 04-28-2021 03:22 PM

My lines are usually a tiny bit curved by virtue if not adjusting for port/starboard slippage on sloped ground.

^^^ I use IPA and it never turns out like yours.

My mower goes so fast I don't need to account for that. I could use a seatbelt to keep from ejecting myself though. Hustler Super Z when new it was supposed to mow at around 15mph. I've never clocked it to see how fast it actually goes with the blades engaged.

I love doing yard work around my place. Live on 2.5 acres in the city, but still kinda in the country. Yeah, I am that guy, like it perfect. Can play music in my side garage, cold beer, get a sweat on. Getting a bit older, brought some help in for some of the hedge trimming.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1619655623.jpg

^^^ Very nice. The edging is superb.

sugarwood 04-28-2021 04:32 PM

Why did you use quotes?
I assumed this was a shave your nether regions thread.

Superman 04-28-2021 04:33 PM

I thought this thread was about, you know, something else.
