I had one rear strut on the Venza replaced last year.
It was covered under the Toyota extended warranty but they would only replace the defective one. I tried to get them to do both but in the end I paid for the second one to be changed out too. AFAIC, there are some things you don't do one at a time. Shocks or struts fall into that category. When I noticed a bit of oil from the 1st strut, I should have started spraying a bit of oil around the second!

Have an indie replace both struts for the same price as the dealer doing one. Gets you back on track and be done with it.

Local indie quoted $400 in labor to do the front shocks, upper and lower arms and tie rod ends on the 2000 Durango. That included the alignment when he was done. Not quite apples to walnuts, hope it helps.
