What is your sore throat treatment?

Started on Thursday and still have it.

Some coughing too.

Gargling with warm salt water.

Honey and lemon.

Cough drops.

I'm taking an antibiotic 3x/day for my tooth as well.

Not sure there's much one can do except wait it out.....

Echinacea throat spray. the best. I've been using it for years, any brand will do, but
Echinacea with Goldenseal, by Herbs, Etc, my personal fave.
Just toot it in there, it sorta burns and scratches out all the itchy, then you're good to go.

Are you positive it’s not strep?

I appreciate the medicinal properties of a good rye whiskey. Whistle Pig 15 yr old will truly help.

Thanks for all the replies and suggestions.

If it's not better by Monday, I will contact my doctor and seek treatment.

I don't get sick very often and usually just suffer through it until it clears up.

Now that I'm getting older, I guess I should take advantage of modern day medical resources.

Thanks again!

magic

This works,

In a big chilled mug,

6 ounces of fresh squeezed grapefruit juice -

6 ounces of gold Tequila :-)

doesn't do chit for the cold, but you feel better

Rinse, wash and repeat,
ernestly praying for your early recovery,
chris

Sleep (and sweat) as much as you can and in a tee shirt and sweatshirt with the hood up. Keeping your neck and head as warm as you can tolerate is genuinely important.

I like to use bourbon, but gargling warm salt water will also work.

Noting you said you're on an antibiotic.
Look for white spots on the back of your throat.

I just went through the same thing, bad tooth, put on antibiotics, sore throat.
The wife is a nurse and she says it is thrush.

After I got off the antibiotic the sore throat went away.
Your mileage may vary.

I thought Thrush was a fungus. no antibiotic will beat that back.

they have me a antifungal mouthrinse. it was very viscous and gross.

for a sore throat. I ride it out with the occasional spritz of that spray with lidocaine in it. I cant remember the name. I spray before I eat so I can swallow easier.

The way my wife explained it to me, there is "good" bacteria in your mouth that keeps the fungus at bay. The antibiotics kill that bacteria too, and that's why the fungus flourishes.

that's what my doc said as well. mine was from my asthma inhaler. that "rinse mouth after use" direction. they were serious about it.
