I'm assuming the swerve in front of the shooters serves 2 functions. If they are shooting out of the left side of their car, and you get on the right side, it'll take them some time to switch sides. Also, cutting their car off will probably also throw them off some.
I've always been curious about pursuit and evasion type driving courses. Not that I think I need them, just out of curiosity. |
my big takeaway?
I really wish that 4x4 was available here in the USA. I would buy one tomorrow and keep it till I died. one and done. |

Forcing them to get everything hanging out back in the car and stop shooting. |
Didn’t realize until I saw that dashcam that there were three vehicles involved in the attempted heist.

Just a little bit more of the action.

Reminds me of a younger driver, in the Charger, in the chase scene of Bullitt.

I also don’t understand some of the nasty comments about the passenger here, wtf was he supposed to do? Roll down the bulletproof window and start returning fire? He seemed fine to me, as long as he didn’t crap in his pants and was ready to fire that weapon. I’ve always heard that everyone is terrified in their first fire fight in combat, it’s normal. |
There's no way to predict what someone will do under fire. Everything considered both of these guys performed admirably.
After some searching it looks like South Africa has an active armoured car industry. |
hard to tell but there may have been a strip over the road to puncture the tires as he went past the high sided van and white pick up; it looks like they were trying to force him into the middle/fast lanes. So if they want you to go one way, go another, he went inside, I think if he wanted to mosh them he could have but didn't want to risk damaging his vehicle too badly.
At the end, the Toyota is no longer engaging a gear and he gets out to return fire. The only mistake he makes is opening the door before he unbuckles his seat belt, being vulnerable at that moment, he could have been shot. |
Looks to me like the high sided van was part of the pursuit.
