OK....there a number of equivalent jet packs being developed and in prototype form.

Now...you are going to scream up to some objective......farging obvious you're inbound.....yer hands are inside a vacuum cleaner on steroids....where the fuk are are your defensive weapons? No lasers on yer heads? WTF?

If the boat leading suddenly takes off, then the pursuit boat has a choice: Let them get away or your jetpack guy goes swimming. And with no brakes, he's lucky to not smack the side of the boat or get blown around by wind - something that is common at sea. All that to transport a flimsy rope ladder. And yeah, they see him floating around out there, he'd be lucky to not get shot out of the sky.

Them Royal Marines did a nice demo, but admitted that they really hadn't figured out the gun part yet, since they can't fly and shoot at the same time..

So basically it's like shooting dutch royal marine ducks when they are coming in with their jet pack
