The 'JB' in 'JB-9' stand for Joe Bob, right?
|
It's about time!
Bond movie Thunderball had one in the opening - that was released in 1965 And, yes, WANT! :D |

Probably right hand drive....
|
Im guessing single engine performance is "sporty".
|
if i could go back to 1970 and redirect progress i'd take jet packs and moon colonies over iPhones and only fans.

I can see how only the British would think that's a good idea.
|
Sure would make getting up into some high alpine lakes quick and easy.
I'd need more attachment points to strap on my overnight crap. You would probably do well to not let anything hang where it might get in the blast zone... ultra light nylon no likey |

Yep, a Brit. Kudo's - a smart design. Not for weak pilots. (ever do gymnastics rings? ) |
I saw one of those about 1967, a 'guy' flew from one end of a football field to the other...end of show.
It was pretty awesome at the time. |
What has changed, largely driven by radio controlled folks and some unmanned aircraft development (small missiles as well) is the availability of small, cheap, amazing small engines with excellent performance, specific fuel consumption (compared to 10 years ago) and TBO.
The metallurgy and manufacturing techniques have brought what was once unobtanium right to the flight line: Just one of the many vendors: https://pacificrcjets.com/collections/kingtech-turbines http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1620235898.jpg That and electronics: GPS, ECU, six axis gyros, etc. that fit in the palm of your hand. Really astounding stuff. |
Weren't the early models powered by hydrogen peroxide?
