When I’m occupied I never think of food. When I was working the only meal for me was dinner. Since I retired I tend to snack more but still I don’t consume a lot. 6’3 and 175lbs.

Check this out- Russian fasting treatments, interesting info.

I am getting 14 hours of sleep each night now. THC sleeping gummies are not considered food.
This needs to be a topic of its own thread. Gummies are by far the best sleep aid I have found . |

I've had luck with IF over the years, but I've never been able to make it stick as a lifestyle. I always go back to 3 meals a day after the novelty of IF wears off.

Another thing that I've ready over and over again, and even seen tested to some extent. Our blood sugar spikes after meals. Then it recovers back to normal levels. What I've read is that it recovers more quickly in the morning and the recovery slows throughout the day. So have your big meal early, and or, your meal with the most simple sugars (sugar, syrup, jelly/jam, etc...). Have a decent sized lunch, and some simple sugars are OK, but don't go crazy, maybe some fruit, but try to have it before noon. For dinner have a smaller meal and restrict your simple and complex carbs at dinner.

I was curious about blood sugar, and what it did and what was BS and what wasn't so I bought an inexpensive monitor and checked it to see if I could see a pattern. (I'm not diabetic, and my BMI ranges between 23.5 and 25. I'm 6'2" and (now) 192-195 (thanks covid). There were days that I'd test my blood sugar 10-15 times a day. Sometimes every 10-15 mins after a meal for 1-2 hours, plus before and after other meals, when I first got up and before I went to bed. I'd test while fasting which at times included 24-48 hour fasts. My blood sugar was never "low." Most of the time it was 85-100 if it had been several hours or even 24 or 36 or 48 hours since I'd eaten. Right after I ate, it could spike to anywhere between 125 and 165 depending upon what I'd eaten, and presumably, when I tested. But it always went back to "normal" within 2-4 hours. |

Is ‘intermittent fasting’ code for ‘eating less’?

I can back that up with scientific data http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1620407026.jpghttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1620407139.jpg |
of course "eating less" could mean small portions many times a day that would result in eating less, but would NOT be intermittent fasting.
|
now where's the fun in that!?!
|
super funny.
my wife threw down the gauntlet. she said, "24 hours". okay, so I stuff a California Super Beef burrito into my face, and cruise. (I actually felt sick, but whatever). I am staring at the deadline. my wife got called into an emergency nurse thing!! FAACK! do I eat without her? I should have cleared up the rules of food engagement here, but no. I am hungry for sure!! but I am shocked the full day went pretty quickly. |

Your best bet is to drink lots of water. |
I think it makes sense to not eat for a few hours before bed and I also like exercise before eating in the morning. But I would not sign up for a 16 hour fast every day and such. Not sustainable and can lead to eating disorders.
The best thing is to eat smaller portions and go easy processed foods and sugar. G |
I fast intermittently every day. Between breakfast and lunch, between lunch and dinner, and between dinner and bed time.
But seriously folks....fasting gets easier the more you do it. It is a matter of setting aside selfishness. Exerting conscious control over your desires. |
