Alabama Chick-fil-A, jewelry store engage in ‘sign war’

I've seen one that was pretty funny recently. They are neighboring shops, one a transmission shop, the other repairs all other stuff on cars. Long time neighbors, no battle.

Trans shop sign said "Take your cel's next door", the repair shop sign said "We don't take any shifts, send it next door".

I know both owners, cool guys.

True story from the late 1970s. In downtown Montgomery. Alabama there was a Baptist church next door to the Catholic church. They were of course both friendly to each other, except on Sunday morning when a lot of Catholics were parking in the Baptists parking lot, and the Baptists were not able to park in their own lot.

They figured out a perfect solution. The Baptists bought a bunch of super sticky hard to remove bumper stickers and stuck them on the back of any car in the Baptist lot. Problem solved.

It looks like some kind of magnifying glasses and he’s wearing a loop around his neck. I think the guy on the right is the jeweler.

The fellow in the purple shirt has a loupe around his neck and a magnifier on his head, making me think that he's the jeweler. But I don't know that for sure.

The sign war that's really hilarious right now, and has spread, is the one in Canada between Dairy Queen and Speedy Glass.

I can't seem to find one story that has all of the signs from those two AND the slew of other businesses that have joined in.
