Japanese-market Mustang Mach I highway patrol pursuit car

https://imgur.com/gallery/bhrz3z0

Located in a run-down museum in Tochigi prefecture, north of Tokyo.

One of a very few high-option Mustangs officially exported between 1971-1973. Served as highway pursuit from 1973-1984.

Neato.

I'd be way more interested in that 59 or 60 Impala convertible police car in the background. I wonder if that's RHD?. (Curious that the mustang is LHD).

That's super cool. I can't imagine that much got away from the mustang when it was prowling. I suspect almost everything there at the time was slow with tiny motors.

I really like this detail. Lotus Blossom?

Similar to this. (Japanese Battle ship front)

It also appears a lot in Buddhist, especially the Jodo-Shinshu sect of Buddhism, in Japan.

Several Japanese sportscast of that era would be able to lose that Mustang through corners

Screen grab from the movie "Black Rain" (1989).

Very cool car but my choice of vehicle to outrun that would either be a Honda C90 Cub scooter or a tiny kei car

A few detours along Tokyo's back streets and I'd easily make a clean getaway

That series of Mustang is just as ugly in Japanese cop car regalia as it is in any other.

In the first photo, I thought that it might have some castor wheels under the front section.

I assume they used that car on highways, and not downtown. It likely looked huge compared to most other cars on the streets.
