What are your favourite pizza toppings?

Or - your preferences for pizza?

Generally speaking I'm a minimalist.

Just cheese alone. Or just add pepperoni. Or that and extra cheese. I also like black olives.

Stuffed crust is also pretty good.

There's a place here that makes a Vegetarian pizza that's outstanding. Not every place can pull that one off. :p

This is it:

Eggplant. A slice of eggplant pizza from Haymarket Pizza in Boston is my favorite.

I love eggplant but never had the pizza.

Is it just eggplant slices with toppings - or a pizza with eggplant slices on it?

Is the taste similar to Eggplant Parmesan (which I LOVE!)?

Slices of eggplant on a cheese pizza. Lightly breaded and seasoned, so it's a bit like eggplant parm (but not as heavy). $2.50 a slice (or at least it used to be, when I lived in Boston). A little hole-in-the-wall down in the Haymarket, next to Faneuil Hall.

Bananna peppers and anchovies .

Making me cry....too many carbs in pizza for this diabetic, so now off my diet. But back in the day? Canadian bacon & olives, please...

^ Spillage? yes please.

So we were at the beach and a Domino's pizza is just up the block.

I stumbled upon a really great combination - deep dish, Italian sausage and chicken with extra marinara sauce, extra messy. It's really fantastic. Try that some time.

I've gone the full circle from more, and more, and more. To less.

I'm eating margherita pizzas now.

Well that was unexpected, happily so.

My wife is an excellent cook and we (I know, I know - she) are going to give this a whirl. I have been on their website.

She has eggplant in her garden so it may be a month or so.

Half eggplant pizza, the other half cheese McCheesy just in case.

Depends on my mood.

Minimalist: Hamburger, jalapeņo, onion and extra cheese.

If I’m somewhere where they make their own meat toppings: Italian sausage, pepperoni, capicola, red onion, hot peppers, Genoa salami, olives.

Tervuren 05-22-2021 01:04 PM

Personally my favourite "topping" is to have a cheese blend.
Then build based on that cheese blend.
Too many ways I like pizza to pick a favourite.

Summer vs winter, spring vs fall, rain vs dry, answer is gonna be different.

What I don't get is the online fights over pineapple on pizza.

rusnak 05-22-2021 01:06 PM

pineapple on pizza is for perverts, like putting bananas in a bagel.

In Italy you'd be deported immediately if you tried ordering a ham and pineapple pizza
